Well, I am about one month in to SUN-Employment and I have to say, it's really nice! I find my style trending on the more casual side because I am just at home or doing errands (not complaining and I am extremely grateful to have some down time). It's funny how certain life events can change your style. I still want to keep it classy and presentable when I am out in public, but also want to be comfortable and not over dress. Jeans and a flowy top or button up are always perfect for any occasion. If you have followed me for a while, you know I am a huge fan of the front tuck. It makes some of the more flowy tops have a little more structure and make them a little more flattering. This outfit will be on repeat for lunch, brunch and yes, even my runs to Target. Shop the looks below! Have a wonderful weekend. XOXO - Jacs
Trends
come and go. I am always a little hesitant when deciding to give into a trend
and follow a few "rules" before I buy:
1. Is it
comfortable? This is huge for me! Who wants to put something on that you are
having to fuss with and not be yourself in?!
2. Can I wear this throughout the
year or most of the year? I get it, some things are seasonal, but I like to
wear things as much as I can to justify buying it. If you can wear it for most of the year, buy it.
3. Is this going to stick? We all
buy some of those trends and look back thinking, "why did I do
that?!" I get it! It's so easy to get sucked into something you are seeing
on every blogger and Instagram image every second of your life. Try to separate
yourself from the hype and think: do I even like this?! If you answer yes for
yourself and can't stop thinking about it, get it.
Well, the "cold
shoulder" trend seems to be staying and I am getting on the bandwagon.
It's comfortable, I can wear it most of the year (thank you San Diego weather)
and let's be honest, it's sticking around and I don't mind it! This little
white top is a perfect way to dress up your jeans. The flowy arms add a little movement to the top. Oh, and it's under $100! Pair it
with a bright, fun clutch and you have the perfect outfit (links to some similar styles below - mine was bought in
Mexico on a recent trip).
For those of you who have been following me on Instagram for
some time, you will know that I love a good stripe. They are perfect to pair
with classics, like denim and black pants, but they are also a great way to mix
your patterns.
I find that when I am trying to mix things up and add a pop
of color, stripes just seem to go with everything. This is a great way to revamp those pieces
you are tired of and bring them back to life. My favorite combination with
stripes (besides jeans) is pairing with a floral pattern. It is such a fun way to bring in those spring
floral trends and make them pop with a contrasting pattern.
What are some of your favorite ways to wear stripes?

This top has the most amazing details – a little bit of a
bell sleeve that buttons at the wrist – flowy and chic.
Did I mention that these sunnies were only $20?! Do yourself
a favor and buy them!
